'The Magic of Automata' by Michael & Maria Start
All of life is automated in this talk with demonstrations of rare antique automata including roaring lions, singing birds and a mechanical archer. Michael & Maria Start run The House of Automata, a museum and restoration workshop in Forres, Scotland.
'Tick Tock Marvels and Gormenghast Castle' by Henrietta Boex
This talk will explore how automata maker Keith Newstead perfectly distilled Mervyn Peake's Gormenghast book trilogy in the spctacular Gormenghast Castle automata.
Henrietta Boex was the Director of Falmouth Art Gallery and is now a freelance Curator and a Director of Cabaret Mechanical Theatre Learning CIC.
Tickets are £18 or £16 for Friends and Patrons.
