Step right up for Couplets — a charming slice of suitcase theatre from Old Rope Productions, where Cumbrian award-winning actors Sarah Waters and Jason Munn unpack a whole world of Edwardian wit, romance, and mischief before your very eyes.
With nothing more than a few props and a good deal of theatrical magic, this delightful travelling company presents two sparkling short plays: “The Constant Lover” by St. John Hankin & “Yesterday” by C.C. Clements.
Join us from 1:30pm to settle in, with the performance beginning at 2:00pm. At the interval, the show pauses but the indulgence begins: enjoy a 30-minute cream tea break featuring scones piled high with cream and strawberries, plus your choice of tea or coffee. Civilised, delicious, and very much in the spirit of the age.
We’ll have you laughing, sighing, and satisfied before 4pm.
Tickets are £10 for both plays. Add cream tea: scones with cream and strawberries, and tea or coffee for £5 per person.
