Directed by Michel Hazanavicius, the film stars Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo as George Valentin and Peppy Miller. Valentin, an older silent film star and Miller, a young actress on the rise. The pair's stories interweave after a chance encounter, Valentin emblematic of the silent era and Miller on the cusp of the speaking wave.
